THE COMMUNITY
The Beating Heart of the Academy.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the best kind of progress doesn’t happen alone.
It happens when you’re surrounded by people who understand the journey.
At Modern Metal Academy, your growth isn’t just something I or the staff notice.
It’s celebrated by an entire community of driven, like-minded musicians. The members here genuinely care about helping each other improve. You’ll get honest feedback, real encouragement, and the kind of support that pushes you to go further.
FAST TRACKS AND PATHWAYS
Over the years, I’ve seen so many players hit walls simply because they don’t have a clear path to follow.
That’s why at Modern Metal Academy, our Fast Tracks and Learning Pathways are designed to give you real structure and direction in your playing.
Each pathway takes you step-by-step through the areas that matter most; rhythm, technique, precision, creativity, and feel. So you’re always working on the right things in the right order
LEARN SONGS
Throughout my career, writing and performing in bands like FELLSILENT, Monuments, and Flux Conduct has taught me a lot about groove, precision, and feel.
In the Learn Songs section, you’ll dive into tracks from my back catalog and break down the riffs, rhythms, and techniques that shaped my sound.
You’ll learn each part through synchronised tabs, in-depth video walkthroughs, and full multi stem backing tracks, so you can play along to your own mix and really lock in.
WORKSHOPS
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had half written songs sat on my hard drive, forgotten for years. Something I’ve over-listened to, over-analysed, and never quite finished.
But here’s the thing: that riff could be the one.
The one that connects, inspires, or even wins Battle of the Riffs.
Open to all levels, each round comes with the chance to earn epic prizes from our sponsors;
Schecter Guitars, Dover Amplification, Two Notes, RedSeven Amplification, All.Pedal, Antelope Audio, Submission Audio, STL Tones, Baby Audio, and DR Strings.
MASTERCLASSES
In my Masterclasses, I take you deep into how I actually write and produce music, from the first idea to the final mix.
In The Power of the Leitmotif, I show how to create memorable, emotionally driven themes that give your songs real identity. In The Basics of Recording and Mixing, I break down my full workflow.
How I record, shape tones, and bring everything together in a mix that feels alive.
IS MODERN METAL ACADEMY RIGHT FOR ME?
The Academy is designed for guitarists who can already play basic chords and follow a song, and want to improve their modern metal technique, rhythm, speed, precision, songwriting or guitar tone.
If you’re unsure where to begin, start with the fundamentals or choose a pathway that matches the skill you want to develop.
